Gold of the Pharaohs
Black cumin – the much sought-after and famous gold of the pharaohs – is an amazing natural herb deeply rooted in tradition and experience from ancient times. The Egyptians have been well known for their advanced wellness techniques and thought the world of these small, black seeds. They immortalised their knowledge and experience with black cumin on papyrus scrolls. According to scripts, Tutankhamun was so enthusiastic about black cumin that he demanded his servants to always carry along an amphora of this precious oil. On his death, an amphora filled with black cumin oil was even placed in his tomb. It is said that both, Cleopatra and Nefertiti, owed their beautiful, silky soft skin and hair to the magic of black cumin oil.
The first and probably earliest time black cumin was mentioned was in the Bible (Isaiah 28, 23-29):
"Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say. When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and harrowing the soil? When he has levelled the surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cummin? Does he not plant wheat in its place, barley in its plot and spelt in its field? His God instructs him and teaches him the right way."
It is noteworthy perhaps that the Hebrews apparently ranked black cumin as one of their staple foods along with wheat, barley and spelt. The picture on the left depicts the black cumin plant. It reaches a height of about 50 cm. Its blossoms are either blue or white with bluish or greenish tips. As the poppy plant, in a year's time, the black cumin plant will grow into a seedpod filled with black seeds. The precious oil is extracted from these seeds.
There are different species of black cumin. And this is where due care is in order, because only black cumin of the botanical name "Nigella sativa" is the "cream of the crop" of the black cumin species. The Nigella sativa species, which, for instance, is cultivated in southern Egypt is also commonly referred to as "Genuine Black Cumin" and is generally believed to be the best source of black cumin oil around the world. There is no other black cumin species that even approximates the extraordinary quality of the Nigella sativa plant. We exclusively offer the oil extracted from Nigella sativa seeds, the genuine black cumin plant – no compromises.
So how can you benefit from this precious oil? From the gold of the pharaohs? Well, the main constituents of black cumin oil are essential fatty acids. Certainly, the word "essential" probably says it all: they are essential for sustaining human life. Essential fatty acids are indispensable building blocks for sustaining human life and play an important role in the formation of specific prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are similar to hormones as they also support many functions important to the human organism.
Among other vital functions they control the development and growth of cells. We may better phantom the importance of essential fatty acids as a constituent of prostaglandins, when we consider that of 700 billion human cells 600 thousand million cells die every day and that these 600 thousand million cells are replaced every day by new cells, which are smoothly integrated into the human organism. As a result of the "coming and going" of cells, prostaglandins help, for instance, to regenerate the human intestinal mucosa every five days. Every couple of weeks the liver cells are completely replaced and the skin is regenerated every month. These essential fatty acids, which are also called essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, can also enhance our immune system.
Since the human organism cannot naturally produce these essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, we recommend declaring "genuine black cumin oil" as your must-have health product in addition to spirulina. You can also apply black cumin oil externally, for instance, as a skin or hair care product.
